Let It Be… Let It Move…Let It Leave

Yesterday, I found myself saying something out loud that I had only been quietly carrying inside: “I’m feeling everything all at once.”
Anger. Sadness. Helplessness. Confusion. Distraction. It felt like my mind had become a crowded room where every emotion was speaking at the same time, and I didn’t know who to listen to.

I told my friend, hoping maybe she’d give me a way out of it. Some shortcut. Some clarity.
Instead, she said something simple, almost disarming:
“Don’t run away from it. Experience it completely. Nothing will happen. Just go through it. Let it move. Let it leave.”

I nodded. I heard her. And I even agreed.

But then came the quieter question, the one that doesn’t let you go so easily:
If I know this… why am I still resisting?

So I sat with that.

And slowly, almost gently, I noticed something I hadn’t seen before — I wasn’t just feeling all these emotions… I was judging them.

There were layers to it.

Not just “I feel angry”
But “I shouldn’t be angry.”

Not just “I feel lost”
But “How can I feel this way when I meditate?”

Somewhere along the way, I had built this quiet belief:
If I am healing, if I am meditating, if I am “growing”… then I should be calm all the time. Grounded. Peaceful. Unshaken.

So when the storm came, I didn’t just feel it — I questioned myself for having it at all.

And the moment I saw that… something softened.

Nothing dramatic happened. I was still moody. Still heavy. Still carrying the same emotions through the day.
But underneath all of it, there was a subtle shift — like the ground beneath me had stopped shaking.

Because for the first time in days, I wasn’t fighting myself.

I was just… allowing.

And in that allowance, I noticed something unexpected:
There was calmness. Not instead of the emotions, but beneath them.

It wasn’t loud. It didn’t replace anything.
But it was there — steady, quiet, untouched.

That’s when it became clear to me:

Meditation isn’t about becoming someone who never feels anger, sadness, or confusion.
Healing isn’t about deleting the messy parts of being human.

It’s not about suppressing what rises within you.

It’s about discovering that even when everything feels chaotic on the surface, there is a space within you that remains still.

A space that doesn’t judge.
A space that doesn’t rush to fix.
A space that simply allows.

And maybe that’s the real practice.

Not becoming calm all the time…
But learning to notice the calm that is already there, even in the middle of everything.

So today, if you find yourself overwhelmed, tangled in emotions you don’t quite understand — you don’t have to solve them all at once.

Just don’t run.

Sit with them.
Feel them.
And if you can, notice the part of you that is quietly holding it all together.

You might find… you’re more okay than you think.
